If you make an alias of a document, and placethe alias in the same folder as AutQuit7, andthen rename the alias to “doc”,then AutQuit7 will tell the application“app” to open the documentat launch. Furthermore, when this applicationquits, the system notifies AutQuit7, andAutQuit7 then tells the system to shut down.(And then, as in the previous case, Mini vMacquits.) If you make an alias of an application, and placethe alias in the same folder as AutQuit7, andthen rename the alias to “app”,then AutQuit7 will launch the application atstartup. (It requires System 7 orlater.) Like EjctQuit, AutQuit7 will not quitMini vMac if the shift key is down. (This flag isn’t just alwaysset, because it is possible to eject all disks evenwhen not shutting down.) This behavior is basicallythe same as using“ EjctQuit”,but doesn’t require System 7.5. At this time AutQuit7sets a flag within Mini vMac, which causes Mini vMac to quitwhen the last disk is ejected. In the simplest case of using AutQuit7, when there are noother items in the folder containing it, then (afterthe next restart) Mini vMac willautomatically quit when you shut down the emulated machine. The way it works is that AutQuit7 is a backgroundonly application, and on shut down the system tellsall background applications to quit. Do not place the AutQuit7 applicationdirectly in the “Startup Items” folder, becauseitems in the same folder as AutQuit7 modify its behavior, and you don’t want to mix up these items with the“Startup Items”. Then make an alias of the application and move the aliasto the “Startup Items” folder within the“System Folder”. To use AutQuit7, copy the application to a new folder on your System 7disk. For applications that can run in System 6 or earlier,“ AutoQuit” may be preferred. Autquit7-1.4.1.zip( info)a zipped hfs disk image and checksum file. The disk image can be mounted with Mini vMac.Includes source code.ĪutQuit7 assists in “wrapping” an application for the Mac Plusthat requires System 7.0 or later, so that you can use it withMini vMac more as you would a native application for yourmachine.
